All customers are recommended to apply the fix.
Summary: Reserved kernel memory amount vm.min_free_kbytes
may be set incorrectly. As a result, Oracle Database may report ORA-27301: OS failure message: No buffer space available
error with disruption to the database operation.
Symptoms:
ORA-27301: OS failure message: No buffer space available
error reported by the database- On database nodes
sysctl -a | grep vm.min_free_kbytes
returns value of 524288, which is a default value from/etc/sysctl.d/50-flashgrid.conf
. On database nodes it should return a larger value.
Affected products:
- FlashGrid Storage Fabric
- FlashGrid cluster for Azure/AWS/GCP
Affected versions:
flashgrid-sf RPM versions 19.5.x through 19.6.432
Root Cause:
The issue will happen if kernel parameters are re-loaded manually after system boot. Also, on Azure it may be triggered by WALinux agent.
Resolution:
Upgrade flashgrid-sf
RPM to the version 19.6.448 or newer on all nodes
Note: Need to reboot each node after the RPM upgrade
