Summary:
An error during disk resync may cause the disk group to be dismounted by ASM and cause database downtime.
Symptoms:
- ASM disk group is dismounted unexpectedly after an i/o error happens during disk resync.
- All database instances using the dismounted ASM disk group are terminated.
Affected products:
FlashGrid Cluster on AWS
FlashGrid Cluster on Azure
FlashGrid Cluster on GCP
FlashGrid Storage Fabric (on-premises and private clouds)
Affected versions and configurations:
Affected: disk groups with Normal or Flex redundancy and two regular failgroups plus a quorum failgroup.
Not affected: disk groups with Normal or Flex redundancy and more than two regular failgroups.
Not affected: disk groups with High or Extended redundancy.

Resolution:
Apply Grid Infrastructure 19c October 2021 Release Update that includes patch 32857370. (For OL/RHEL 8 based systems please read this technical alert.)
Alternatively, you can apply patch 32857370 after applying July 2021 Release Update.
