Summary
Per the Azure announcement, starting August 1st, 2026, certain VM series may get deployed on the new Microsoft Azure Network Adapter (MANA) hardware. This potentially affects both new deployments and existing deployments following a "stop-deallocate and start" command or standard Azure maintenance event. VM upgrades and/or OS and software updates may be required to prevent Accelerating Networking (AN) from getting disabled and to prevent reliability and performance issues.
Symptoms
- Accelerated Networking NIC getting disabled or switching from ConnectX to MANA after VM stop/start.
- Possible performance degradation.
- Possible NIC device reliability issues if kernel updates not applied.

- FlashGrid Cluster on Azure (Commercial cloud only)
- FlashGrid Server on Azure (Commercial cloud only)
Note: No action is required at this time in Azure Gov Cloud or Azure China.
