Starting with version 26.05, FlashGrid Cluster and FlashGrid Server can be deployed with either version 19c or 26ai of Oracle Grid Infrastructure (GI).
By default, a GI version is selected automatically in FlashGrid Launcher based on the version you select for the database:
- for database version 26ai, GI version 26ai is selected automatically;
- for database version 19c, GI version 19c is selected automatically.
FlashGrid's recommendation for database version 19c is GI version 19c if you plan to keep running the database as version 19c. This combination minimizes compatibility risks by leveraging large installed customer base and many years of validation by FlashGrid and Oracle.
However, if you plan to upgrade the database from 19c to 26ai soon after deployment then FlashGrid recommends deploying with GI version 26ai and thus avoiding the need to upgrade GI.
To deploy GI version 26ai with database version 19c, manually setting the GI version parameter in the configuration file is required. Please contact FlashGrid support for assistance.
